New Laparoscopic Surgery Service.
Cheshirepet has recently launched a new laparoscopic service to offer various operations with minimal invasion. These services are similar to those offered for human laparoscopic operations. The services now available include laparosopic bitch spays, laparosopic liver biopsies and other techniques. The advantage of this sort of surgery is that it is minimally invasive and only involves very small incisions through the skin that often dont even need stitches to get them to heal. This means that post operative pain is minimised and the dogs speed of post operative recovery is increased. For example a bitch that has been laparosopically spayed will often return to normal far quicker than a bitch that has ubdergone a conventional neutering operation. These operations are achieved using small so called stab incisions through the skin and then a camera is placed into the abdomen or thorax so that the surgical sites can be visualised via a television screen (and recorded onto DVD) and the operations can be performed through these small incisions. Please telephone for more information in this revolutionary technique that is only at present offered by a handful of veterinary practices through out the country. Download and Print off for £20 discount voucher.

PET SMILE MONTH SEPTEMBER 2008
Is your pet one of the 80% of cats and dogs over three years of age urgently needing dental treatment? Cheshire Pet is offering a free dental checkup with our nurses and 25% of Hills t/d food. In addition if your pet needs a routine scale and polish we are offering 10% off our usual price. Many loving pet owners do not realise the extent of their pets disease and are unaware of the importance of toothbrushing, daily oral hygiene chews and the special dental diets which can help avoid the problems. As our pet ages periodontal disease progresses, bacteria spreads from the mouth through the bloodstream to affect other organs such as the kidneys and heart valves. In addition little showers of bacteria are carried into the lungs with every breath. If you are worried or simply want more information please book in for a free dental checkup where we can examine your pets mouth, demonstrate toothbrushing and the use of oral chews and special diets.

Changes to our out-of-hours emergency care
Our current provider of out-of-hours emergency care is no longer prepared to provide this service. However this offered us the perfect opportunity to look for a alternative provider. Much as we would love to provide our own out-of-hours care it is impossible for a small but dedicated team of vets and nurses, who work during the day, to then work 24hrs throughout the night. We took the decision a few years ago that having a small friendly clinic at the heart of the community was more important than becoming a large corporate vets that was able to provide it's own out-of-hours.

We are delighted to announce that A&E Vets in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire are covering our night service. So from September 1st all out-of-hours patients requiring emergency care will be treated by dedicated on duty vets and nurses who have not worked during a busy day. Cheshire Pet feel this is a fantastic facility that will be of benefit to all our clients.

From the 1st October we will also be providing greater choice for our clients for out-of-hours care. The award winning team at Vets Now, Stoke will be available to any of our clients who feel that A&E Vets in Cheadle Hulme is just too far to travel. Likewise clients who are unfamiliar with Stoke perhaps would be happier travelling to Cheadle Hulme.

All emergency numbers can be obtained by dialing Cheshire Pet line 01477 544554.
