We know that owning a pet can be expensive, so we have regular offers for some of the most common treatments.

Regular clinic events
Our team of nurses run regular clinics covering a broad range of topics such as dental hygiene, nutrition, weight management and senior health. Every month we have a “puppy party” for recently registered puppies, run by Jane and Jeremy Frith (a local animal behaviourist and friend of the practice), and we offer free kitten clinics. Please ask at reception to book a place or to find out more.
Emergency care
Emergency care is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Outside our normal hours, your call will be automatically directed to our local partner hospital, where you can speak with a nurse who will advise you further. Microchipping
Microchipping is a safe, effective and standardised method to allow the identification of animals. A small microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is placed between the shoulder blades. A scanner can then be used to identify the unique number associated with the microchip, which will be linked to the owners name, address and contact information. Microchipping of dogs came compulsory by Law in April 2016, it must be carried out before the dog is 8 weeks of age and the information associated with the microchip number must be kept up to date. The breeders must be recorded as the first owner of the dog to allow the dogs history to be traced.

Neutering
This is a procedure used to prevent unwanted pregnancies. It has other benefits too; It can potentially decrease the risk of ovarian and mammary cancer in females, It can lower the risk of certain prostate diseases and testicular cancers in male, It can sometimes help with behavioural issues in males. It can make them calmer and less aggressive, It can make males less likely to want to roam away from home and, therefore, less likely to get hurt or go missing. We can neuter dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets.
